April 14, 2008
We arrived at the officials office right on time this morning. Davis came in the door crying. Just what we had hoped wouldn't be the case. He cried for about 2 hours and then began playing with David. They have hit it off just great. As for me, he still hasn't quite come around. But if he wants to eat I'm sure he will start liking me real fast. lol It's funny how much like David he is. He had big hands like him. But beleive it or not, under all those clothes, he is very skinny. He also has some of David's temperment. He is very cute with a wonderful little laugh. It will be fun watching him in the next few days. Love to all,
Here's Some Pictures
The picture below is in our Hotel lobby in Beijing. Dr. Fang just happended to be in Beijing and came by to greet us and make sure everthing was going well. He is the founder of our adoption agency Living Hope. He was on his way to the airport going back to the U.S. Really glad we got to meet him. In the picture is our travel group. From left to right is Nancy, (Stacie's mom). Joe, Stacie's husband and daughter Mailay. (sorry for any spelling). Stacie and Joe are adopting a little boy. Then Angie and Clayton who are adopting a little boy. David and Cindi. Next is Kateri and her husband Daivd and their little girl Kirsten, they are adopting a little girl. We will meet up these families again in Guanghou on the 21st.
Great Wall - Beijing China
Here are a few pictures of the Great Wall. We walked up pretty far and they gave us a certificate for making it that far. It was tough on the thighs, but such an experience. Something we will never forget. Steep coming down, but such a beautiful view.
Hello Everyone!!
We have had very good flights from Richmond to Beijing, and now we are in Taiyuyuan. We will get Davis in the morning, and spend some time in the local orphanage with those children. We climbed the Great Wall yesterday, well part of it. We received a certificate for doing so. Not as old as we thought. Although we thought we were going to pass out before we got to the top of only one small part. There were really old Chinese people passing us and laughing. I guess because we are out of shape according to their standards. It's very hard in some parts beause the steps are from a few inches high to over 2 feet high. It gives your thighs a great workout. It has been hard to get the blog to work, but one of the other parents gave me instructions and now it will work hopefully every day. We will post pictures of "Gotcha Day" tomorrow. Until Then,
Cindi and David
